Growing weed is easy…well, it’s actually really hard. It’s both. It’s one of those things that you could do by accident, but to master it, takes a lifetime. That’s why there is so much variability in the quality of weed you’ve enjoyed. There’s no one way to grow cannabis. It’s like everything else in life, there are many ways that you could be successful. That’s why pages like this one here are important. Express Highs growing content is here to help.
There are a lot of choices that go into growing great buds. The easiest way is outdoors in the correct season. If living in the proper climate and regulatory environment, these can be by far the simplest way to set and forget a seed so to speak. You may get mold, but you may get lucky.
Cannabis can be grown in soil, hydroponically or in soilless medium such as coco coir, peat moss, grow cubes etc. Regardless of how it is grown all plants need a certain amount of nutrients. This can be provided by the soil (organically) or by the grower using salt based nutrients or organic based nutrients.
For decades now growers have mastered indoor agriculture on a crazy scale. Thousands of pounds of top shelf bud can be harvested every week through staggering grow cycles and continuously cutting clones. Cannabis growers only grow females. Because of this, the first task is either to grow seedlings to the point where sex can be identified or starting with female clones or feminized seeds. If you’ve smoked the same strain for years, it has been cloned and regrown many times. It is genetically identical to the mother plant from years ago.
Often not considered by the end user, but perhaps the most important stage is drying and curing. Anyone can grow incredible weed, but many of them will mess it up at this stage. Without proper control and methodology, what was once an incredible harvest will cure into a bag of potent hay. Drying and curing is really what sets the masters apart from the masses.
Cannabis is an incredibly labor intensive crop on the large scale, but supremely satisfying as a hobby grower. There is almost nothing on earth that expresses the variation in smell, effect and look of growing weed.
