Also known as 3-Chlorophenmetrazine, 3-CPM is a research chemical that is known for its stimulatory effects.  It goes by a few other names too like PAL-594 and 3C-Phenmetrazine

This novel stimulant and substance is part of the phenylmorpholine family of drugs as it is made from phenmetrazine – a name that may ring a bell as this was used in Europe, in the 1950s, by those who wanted to rid weight as phenmetrazine has appetite-reducing effects. 

But it also increases dopamine – serotonin – and norepinephrine levels in the brain as well. 

This is why people who try 3-CPM report greater alertness, increased focus, and enhanced creativity.  Euphoria, faster thoughts, and a boost in drive/motivation, are also reported by most who have shared their experience with 3-CPM, which is quickly growing in popularity. 

People who take 3-CPM despite its status as a for-research-only drug contrast its effects to those of amphetamines, which as you likely know, are stimulants as well.  But while 3-CPM is stimulating, its effects are said to be milder and easier to control than more conventional amphetamines – this is likely why it has been soaring in demand among recreational users.

So in the 1980s – it was banned – as many began to misuse it for the stimulating euphoria it induces.  Widespread – recreational use ran rampant.  It is banned to this day, with 3-CPM being the most relative drug to it found in the chemical market today. 

If you are curious how 3-CPM came about, it is a product of structural modification studies in which the molecular framework of phenmetrazine was altered and assessed.  This arc of synthesization saw the addition a chlorine atom to the structure of phenmetrazine; 3-CPM being the end result. 

It then became part of the research chemical class of drug, or experimental substances, if you will.  Very simply, this denotes its synthetic nature, and lack of evidenced medical use. 

With little data on its potential risks and pharmacological properties, and with none to very little info on its metabolic process and activity, those who use it should be very cautious as this, along with little regulatory oversight, makes for an unknown, risk-to-reward outcome.

There is likely much more to learn from 3-CPM than amphetamines as its unique molecular structure presents a one-of-kind chance for chemists and scientists to see how its distinct make up interacts with pathways and neurotransmitters.  While structural modifications of this synthesized compound are minor the changes can cause drastically unique reactions. 

For this reason, studying 3-CPM gives the chance to learn about chemical bonding, and the ways this unique substance interacts with the brain.  One day – as more and more study 3-CPM – we might even see a rise in new drug and compound classes with property-specific makeups that are intently used to treat or address specific neurological issues/disorders! 

How to Store and Handle 3-CPM 

As with most drugs and any other research chemical, it is best to store 3-CPM in a dry, cool and dark place; doing so will extend its shelf life.  Keeping it stored in these conditions, and in an air-tight, light-proof container, will keep it fresh for testing for twelve or more months.  Just make sure you wear gloves, glasses, and a lab coat, to help reduce the risk of contact.
